Advances in number theory Leiden 1999

The number theory section of the Mathematical Institute of the Universiteit Leiden is organizing a small workshop on recent progress in number theory at the The Lorentz Center from April 12 through April 23. The organizing committee consists of

This informal meeting will consist mainly of informal discussions. There will be office space and computer facilities for the participants. Coffee and tea will be served in the common room every day at 10 AM and 3 PM. We plan a brief presentation of one of the participants each day after the afternoon tea. The most up-to-date version of the program of lectures is maintained on the web.

The opening lecture will be given on April 12 at 4 PM by Andrew Granville. On April 15, 16 we will have two full days of lectures organized jointly with the intercity number theory seminar. On these two days we are also organizing a lunch. If you want to join this lunch on one or both days then you have to send email to Annette Vermond (vermond@lc.leidenuniv.nl) before April 7 and say which day(s) you wish to join the lunch.
